Watford Junction is a Watford Museum project to engage with local communities to celebrate the vibrant diversity within the town.

All over Hertfordshire, museums are trying to build up a more comprehensive history of the ethnic diversity of the County. We're collecting stories, historical information, photographs and interviews. One key question we're trying to find out is what attracted people to move to Hertfordshire.

The collection of stories for this website is a key part of Watford Junction, but there are also other projects and events. We hope that as many people as possible will get involved.

What a great end to my day! Attending the launch of this web site was a really exciting experience. Thanks for the invite. Well done, one and all.

I came to live in Watford in 1940. Our house was on Cassiobury Drive, at the north end, near the junction with Langley Way. The American Army took over the land between Cassiobury Drive and the Park on which roads and utilities, but no houses, had been built. They constructed a camp. On the east side of Cassiobury Drive, north of Langley Way, a HQ for the ARP workers was built.
