Dear Diary 'AKWABAA! Me Dayεε ABAMU' (WELCOME! MY DREAM HAS COME TRUE)

By Lisa Amparbeng

About the pillowcases

dear diary, as the youngest, is about dreams of mine and my ghanaians friends to travel and live in london to make a better future for my present and future family. however, there is always a fear that such a journey could bring forth anguish, physically and mentally between my ghanaian culture and the british culture. Dear diary highlights having reached London and suffered what the previous wave of Ghanaian people have suffered an adaptation of my African attire to accommodate the climate change. There is a real fear of losing my cultural identity, first, with my clothing, and now with my hair. My friends' say, embrace both cultures, you only come out stronger that way.
